On September 26, 2025, the conference entitled “Tourism in Szeklerland on the Path to Professionalization 3.0” was held in Târgu Mureș, where our colleague, Dr. Zsófia Papp, participated in a roundtable discussion on behalf of the CROCUS project.

Other participants in the roundtable discussion were Zoltán Soós, Mayor of Târgu Mureș, and Koppány Bulcsú Ötvös, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture. Based on questions posed by moderator Dr. Judit Sulyok, the discussion focused on reviewing the current situation and trends in culture and cultural tourism.

While her fellow panelists concentrated on urban areas, Zsófia Papp was the “spokesperson for the countryside”: based on the research results of the CROCUS project to date and the experiences of the “Living Lab,” she presented the opportunities offered by rural areas, highlighting the role of “slow tourism,” creative tourism, and authentic local values.
