  • in general, a logistics specialist is needed in any place where there is a flow of materials (transport, handling, stocking, purchasing, production) in the course of operations.

Upon completion of the specialisation, the graduate will

  • be able to communicate with supply chain professionals,
  • recognise supply chain phenomena and their impact on the functioning of the organisation,
  • consider the impact of decisions on supply chains when making decisions.

Logistics and supply chain management with specialisation in management organisation specialist has a committed, application-ready knowledge of

  • the basic context of supply chain operations;
  • the relationship between supply chains and internal company operations;
  • the components and operations of logistics systems supporting supply chain operations;
  • the IT aspects of supply chain management.

Areas of competence developed by the specialisation:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and understanding of internal company processes and the supply chain business and technical processes that determine the operation of the supply chain;
  • Knowledge of key research trends in the field of logistics and supply chain management, their conceptual framework and the methodological basis for the research;
  • Detailed knowledge of modern business solutions for supply chain management tools and IT solutions supporting effective supply chain management;
  • Good knowledge of the internal structure of the logistics system, logistics processes and systems, planning, analysis and development methods and procedures;
  • Knowledge of logistics and its sub-systems and supply chain performance evaluation techniques for evaluating the supply chain.

Ability

  • Ability to see through organisational operations to supply chains and  impact on organisational functioning;
  • Ability to consider supply chain aspects in making decisions;
  • Ability to identify logistics developments and objectives that support business competitiveness objectives;
  • Ability to integrate supply chain process expectations and performance with other business functions effectively with other business activities;
  • Ability to work independently in key research areas in logistics and supply chain management formulate and carry out independent research problems.

  • Sensitive to potential supply chain problems at both operational and strategic levels and proactively addresses them;
