Ildikó Neumanné Virág PhD is Associate Professor, Head of the Department of International Economics (Institute of Economics) at the University of Pannonia. Previously, she worked as a research associate at the KRAFT Social Innovation Laboratory (IASK) and at the Regional Innovation and Development Network Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA-PE – University of Pannonia). Her research interests include European integration,the effect of EU enlargement of Central and Eastern Europe, international economics and international trade, and their statistical analysis and modelling using gravity models. In addition to these topics, she also researches other areas such as the circular economy, climate change and the wider economic and social context of sustainability. Her research focuses on the extent to which the integration of the European Union can be considered effective in terms of trade policy instruments.
