The objective of the specialisation

The aim of the specialisation is to train economists who, with a basic knowledge of international affairs, European integration, international law, international business and economics, are able to analyse the global economy, interpret international trends, and conduct and manage international negotiations effectively.

They are aware of the criteria for companies and national economies to operate in the global arena. The competences acquired will enable them to work independently in different areas and at different levels of economic institutions, to prepare and analyse decisions, to contribute to the setting up of international enterprises and to manage and control transport and international transactions.

The specialisation is for you if you

  • feel comfortable in an international environment;
  • you are interested in international economic and market processes;
  • want to get to know the institutional system, policies and business environment of the European Union;
  • are interested in the analysis of international market trends and interpretation of international trend.

Competencies acquired

  • Knowledge and use of economic, international economic, world economic, management and decision-making theories and methods of analysis.
  • Ability to independently identify problems and new environmental phenomena in the operation of corporate, regional, state and international organisations, and to assign and solve tasks.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic context and the factors influencing it at local, regional, national and international levels.
  • Ability to develop effective international business strategies.
  • Ability to analyse geopolitical, social, cultural and religious aspects of the international business environment.
  • Ability to plan and organise economic activities in business organisations, international organisations, governmental institutions, economic work, foreign trade, finance, development policy, economic policy processes.
  • Ability to apply the elements and methods learnt, to draw conclusions, to make proposals and to take decisions.
  • Open and receptive to new developments in economics and practice.
  • Participating in research and development projects, mobilising theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the project team in an autonomous way, in cooperation with other members of the team to achieve the goal.
