For whom is the Master’s Programme in Tourism Management recommended?

MA in Tourism ManagementThis Master’s Programme is recommended to those who:

  • have studied tourism before but would like to get a deeper insight into tourism as a phenomenon as well as an industry;
  • would like to widen their knowledge gained from their previous studies in other academic areas with specialist tourism knowledge;
  • see dealing with complex problems and bringing differing interests to a consensus as a challenge;
  • would like to think internationally both during their studies as well as in their work always bearing the characteristics of the domestic offer in mind;
  • are interested in complex tasks, such as destination management or organisation of the tasks of the large scale tourism enterprises;
  • would like to participate in the drafting of successful project development proposals;
  • would like to work in senior management positions in tourism.

Both new and older graduates are welcome in this Master’s Programme. The curriculum and educational methods have been organized in a way that meets the needs of both circles of students. We also offer part time education for those wishing to study alongside their jobs.

Where can you find employment with a Degree from the Faculty?

The Master’s level tourism degree offers a wide range of employment opportunities in tourism and the related industries. Our graduates are looking to find jobs in the following types of businesses and organisations:

  • tourism destination management organisations (DMOs);
  • national tourism management bodies, foreign offices of Hungarian National Tourist Office;
  • hotels and hotel chains;
  • tour operators, conference organisers;
  • environmental protection organisations, national parks;
  • cultural institutions, festival organisations;
  • sports facilities, organisers of sporting events;
  • research institutes, consultancy firms, project proposal drafting businesses;
  • higher educational institutions offering tourism courses.

The knowledge acquired during the Master’s will also enable our students to start and successfully operate their own businesses.

The model curriculum of the Master’s programme consists of 4 semesters (120 credits).

Linguistic Requirements

Students participating in the English Master Programme do not need to fulfil the usual language requirements in Hungarian higher education.
