How can we process scientific information? Can we discern between real scientific results and fake news? How does the media report scientific results?

The Science for All sub-project of the National Laboratory for Social Innovation (TINLAB) project seeks to answer these questions.

Within the framework of the sub-project, the students of the University of Pannonia participated in a one-day science communication training led by Dr. Judit Sulyok on 12 of April 2024.

During the English-language training, which was held as part of the International Week from 8-12 April, students were given an insight into the current situation and challenges of science communication, and were able to test their knowledge and skills on how to interpret the results of scientific research through practical, playful exercises.

The training was implemented under the project RRF-2.3.1-21-2022-00013 “National Laboratory for Social Innovation”, in the framework of the Széchenyi Plan Plus programme, with the support of the European Union’s Instrument for Recovery and Resilience.

On 1 March 2024, the Industry 4.0 management postgraduate specialisation program was launched. The program, which provides a management approach to digital transformation, has been developed using the research experience of the DKM (Digitalisation & Knowledge Management) research group on Industry 4.0.

The research project “Social aspects of digital intelligence” is carried out in the framework of the National Laboratory for Social Innovation at the University of Pannonia and aims to develop a unique digital intelligence evaluation system in a representative survey.

Dr. Nóra Obermayer, professor presented the social survey, which is in the planning and implementation phase, in the afternoon program of Civil Radio 117 minutes.

Handing in the thesis work and the upcoming final exam means not only that student years will finish soon but also that a new chapter will come: employment starts.
In these cases freshgrads are often thinking on the following questions:

• What shall I write into my resume?
• For what type of positions shall I apply?
• What shall I expect in a job interview?
• What can I deploy for a successful application?
• In these questions Ms. Zsófia Bánóczy-Perényi -who represents Continental – will trying to help you. She used to work in recruitment for 13+ years, during her career she has interviewed hundreds of freshgrads and once uppon a time she had similar questions

Kia ora, New Zealand (Aotearoa), what a great congress and experience!

Our lecturer, Dr Katalin Lőrincz attended the World Leisure Congress organised by the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, and shared the following account of her experience with us.

The main theme of the congress was “Learn well, Live well”.

“I was extremely thrilled to have the opportunity to deliver my presentation on “Adaptation and Innovation in Cultural Events Amid Crisis: An Examination of the ECoC Programme.”. Everything went great! It was such an enriching experience, combined with amazing discussions. Unique nature, wildlife and extreme attractions, friendly people and the living maori culture.

Data, information, systems and platforms – organisations and individuals alike are swimming in a sea of accumulated and relatively easily accessible knowledge. We have to face the fact that technological advances, digitalisation and Industry 5.0 are generating challenges to which not only business but also societies have to respond. It is a big task to adapt knowledge management tools to societal units, while at the same time providing education and awareness in a society made up of small local communities. Veszprém, as the European Capital of Culture 2023, is using culture and community-building tools to seek answers to major societal challenges, while the University of Pannonia is using science and education to explore their business and societal impacts. Under the theme of Organizational and Social Management of Societal Challenges, we welcome researchers, students, entrepreneurs and all those who can contribute to the knowledge of this topic to participate in ECKM 2024, which will be held at the University of Pannonia in Veszprém, Hungary.

ECKM 2024 will also host the final round of  The 10^th Knowledge Management and Intellectual Capital Excellence Awards
