EIT Food Innovation Prize – online startup competition

Organized by the EIT Climate-KIC, you can apply now for a free English-language online competition program supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

The EIT Food Innovation Prize is open to innovative food and agriculture solutions. It consists of a one-day business training and a domestic and then an international competition where a non-refundable grant of € 10,000, € 15,000 or even € 25,000 can be won.

The deadline is: 24. May 2020.

ClimateLaunchpad – Free business development training

ClimateLaunchpad: Free business development training, also the world’s largest green business idea competition. Teams who have a good idea of ​​mitigating the effects of climate change are welcome to apply. The goal of the program is to support teams professionally and with a network of contacts in which their international and domestic coaches participate.

What does the program, which will be held online this year, consist of?

– 3 half-day bootcamp with foreign trainer
– 6 group business opportunities
– National final
– Grand final

The winner of the Grand final will receive € 10,000, the runner-up will receive € 5,000 and the third will receive a cash prize of € 2,500.

Reveal YouropEaN Cultural Heritage project within the Europe for Citizens – Closing Conference and Scavenger Hunt

On 6-7th March 2020. The Municipality of Veszprém Town of County Rank would like to cordially invite you to the Closing Conference and Scavenger Hunt of our Reveal YouropEaN Cultural Heritage project within the Europe for Citizens Programme.

The project has been run by five organisations in five European towns and created opportunity for young people to explore local cultural heritage and share their opinion about what this heritage means to them, how they see the future of cultural heritage. The participants developed special maps of their towns that display sites and itineraries for those who are curious about the local ‘taste’ of that settlement. Via several local and international meetings, interviews with locals, city tours guided by the young team members, the maps, a research by online questionnaires and this closing conference, the project team develops and shares a deeper understanding of their local and European cultural heritage and also the ways they connect themselves to it.

CONFERENCE ON THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT, PRESENTING THE MAPS

6th March 2020, Friday 4 pm
location: Veszprém, Hangvilla Multifunctional Community Centre, Brusznyai St. 2.
The language of the event is English

4 – 5:15 pm
– greeting
– a short description of the project
– presenting the closing publication including the main activities, results, recommendations
– Project Partners share their experiences regarding the project events, activities, conclusions
– Presenting the new maps: Eisenstadt, Lendava, Saint Omer, Tartu and Veszprém

5:30 – 6:30 pm
– presenting results of the online survey carried out at the beginning and at the end of the project
– What is next? Open Space – discussing project ideas and future cooperation

The second WineLab Online Contest

The second WineLab Online Contest is inviting scholars to visit their local wineries and perform a Participatory Photo Analysis, that combines photographs, comments and a rating.

Read carefully about the process you must follow. What you must do: Identify strong and weak aspects of European Wineries and design your own poster by mixing text with photographs, highlighting strengths, and suggesting possible improvements to attract young visitors.

Falling Walls Lab – Science an innovation competition at Budapest

Falling Walls is a unique international platform for leaders from the worlds of science, business, politics, the arts and society. It was initiated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. In this year the foundation organizes an English-language science and innovation competition in Budapest for the second time. The participants has an opportunity to show their innovative ideas in just 3 minutes, showcasing a breakthrough that creates a positive impact on science and society. The best performers can be part of the Falling Walls Lab Finals and the Falling Walls Conference in Berlin, which will be funded by the Falling Walls Lab Foundation and home organizers.

Who can apply:
They welcome applications from undergraduate, graduate, PhD students, postdoctors, young professionals, entrepreneurs and professors who:
– are currently undergoing BSc or MSc, or
– since their BA degree, no more than 10 years have passed, or
– has been in the MSc degree for over 7 years, or
– Their PhD degree has been acquired in the last 5 years.

World Tourism Day 2018

27th September is World Tourism Day! The topic in 2018 is Tourism and the Digital Transformation.

✔ What do you think about the future?
✔ How will technological development change tourism?
✔ Will there be any new career opportunities?
✔ Are we going to take virtual tours instead of real ones or will we just get a new perspective on the already cherished destinations?

If you have an opinion, share it with us and take part in the game! We are expecting 1-minute-long videos in which you share what comes to your mind when you hear Tourism and the Digital Transformation.

You won’t need a professional studio or a make-up artist, all you need is your phone and your fantasy. If you don’t want to appear on video, do not worry. We also accept information videos with animations, captions, pictures.

The contest is open for everyone, we look forward to see all your diverse perspectives.

The videos will be posted on the Faculty of Business and Economics Facebook page on 27th September, where you can vote for the most interesting ideas. The top three will receive some gifts from the faculty. On top of that, the runner-up will get a bottle of wine to celebrate, while the winner gets a valuable gift for the hard work.
