The SLI Language Centre at the University of Freiburg offers the possibility to participate in Summer and Winter Universities.

Great news for wine lovers! In the spring semester of 2024/25, the University of Pannonia will launch the BorKatedra | Seminar on Hungarian Wine in English.

Important information about the course:

• The 3-credit course can be taken as an elective by any student of the University of Pannonia.
• Code of the Subject is: VEGTTUS243bk
• The course is 6 weeks long.
• English classes will be held at the beginning of the semester on Mondays from 8:00 to 12:00.
• Number of students: 30
• The course is open to full-time students.

The Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency (Magyar Bormarketing Ügynökség) has designed the course, which focuses on Hungarian wine culture, to provide young people with a set of knowledge covering the production, marketing, evaluation and consumption of wine, and to promote the learning of conscious, moderate, quality-oriented wine consumption.

• Wine tasting – general introduction to wines, tasting techniques

Prof. Dr. Constantin Bratianu is professor of Strategic Management and Knowledge Management at the Faculty of Business Administration, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania. He is Director of the Research Centre for Intellectual Capital, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest. He is a member of the American Academy of Management, Southern Association of Management, USA, and International Association of Knowledge Management. He published over 30 books, and over 200 papers in international journals and international conference proceedings. His main academic interests are: knowledge dynamics, knowledge management, intellectual capital, and strategic management.

In Prof. Bratianu’s course (7th-11th April 2014) the students can learn about the theory and practice of knowledge management and relating approaches including:

Knowledge economy. Knowledge management. Understanding knowledge by using metaphors. Explicit and tacit knowledge. Nonaka’s model for knowledge dynamics. The multifield model for knowledge dynamics. This course invites master students from not only the Faculty of Business and Economics, but also master students of the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Modern Philology and Social Sciences.

“My name is Ágnes Scherdán and I’m attending the Tourism Management MA course in English at the (Faculty of Economics) University of Pannonia. This is my first semester. I chose the English „version” of this study because I think it will be easier for us to get a better job, than for those who learn it in Hungarian. In the future I might work abroad and therefore the good English knowledge is indispensable.

In this semester we have some basic compulsory subjects – like Strategic Management, Managerial Decisions and Local Government Finance and Economics -, and some more practice-orientated ones, like Tourism Policy and Planning and Organization and management of integrated tourism businesses. On the last one, we’re having lots of guest speakers from the tourism sector during the semester, which is really interesting and useful for us.

So if you would like to do your MA studies in the field of Tourism and you speak English, do not hesitate to choose this program – you will only benefit from this!”
