Our students participated in an international conference in Albania in April 2026 as part of the short-term mobility program of the Pannonia Scholarship Program, and Kamilla Gáncs wrote a summary of the event.

“Between April 27–30, as Tourism and Hospitality students of the University of Pannonia, we had the opportunity to participate in an international professional conference in Albania, hosted at the Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës, as part of the the Pannonia Scholarship Program.

During the “Family Business Forum – Symposium” conference, we attended inspiring presentations about the development of family tourism businesses, the role of education and international cooperation, and the future of tourism.

However, one of the most valuable aspects of the program was the opportunity to build international connections: we had the chance to meet Slovak and Czech university students and lecturers, with whom we exchanged professional experiences, discussed current challenges in tourism, and gained insight into each other’s educational and tourism perspectives.

The days we spent together provided us not only with professional knowledge, but also with meaningful personal experiences: new friendships, inspiring conversations, and unforgettable memories were created. We are proud to have represented our university in such an international and motivating environment.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey, which reinforced our belief that tourism truly connects people and cultures.”

On March 10, our master’s students in the “Management and Leadership – Sustainable Tourism Management” visited Kapolcs.

Kapolcs is a charming, little village in the Balaton Uplands, best known for the Valley of Arts festival.

During the field trip, they gained insight into the operations of the Művészvölgy Kúria and learned about the current situation in Kapolcs as both a place to live and a tourist destination. During the trip, they visited the blacksmith’s workshop and the Kapolcs Village Mill, where they had the chance to try their hand at these activities.

Based on their experiences from the study trip, which was part of the Destination Branding course, the students identified the brand values of Kapolcs as a tourist destination and also created a short video.

The University of Pannonia’s Faculty of Business and Economics, along with its institutions, departments, as well as its teaching locations, with the support of the Scientific Student’s Council of the University of Pannonia and the University of Pannonia Faculty of Business and Economics’ Scientific Student’s Council announces the Scientific Student’s Association’s Conference at the University of Pannonia.

Students enrolled at BSc/BA, MSc/MA programmes can be qualified to participate.

The application has to be done via online registration with a short summary of the research paper handed in on the following website: http://etdk.uni-pannon.hu.

• the date of the 2026 Scientific Student’s Association’s conference: 29th April 2026

FOUNDATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF PANNONIA CALL: TENDER BASED ON SOCIAL NEEDS

The purpose of this tender is to provide financial support to those students who are socially disadvantaged compared to their peers but actively participate in academic, and sport activities.

The tender based on social needs can be applied by students of the University of Pannonia participating in state-supported (state scholarship, partial scholarship) or self-funded full-time higher education vocational training, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, undivided degree, Ph.D., and who fulfill the requirements of the call for tenders.

Recipients of the scholarship will receive 100,000 HUF every month for 5 months during the semester.

The Foundation for the University of Pannonia announces a tender based on the Mentor Program, Scholarship, and Award Regulation for the students of the University to participate in the scientific students’ association scholarship tender for the II. semester of 2025/2026.

The Scientific Students’ Association (TDK) is the broadest and most comprehensive form of talent management in higher education, which serves as the basis for self-education, elite training, and nurturing future scholars. With the scientific students’ association scholarship, the Foundation for the University of Pannonia aims to support the students of the University in submitting high-quality works and creations to qualify for scientific students’ association conferences.

During the 2025/2026 academic year’s spring semester, a monthly scholarship of 100,000 HUF can be awarded. The duration of the scholarship period is 3 months (February 1 2025, to April 30 2025).

The tender documents must be submitted via the Neptun system from 15 October 2025, 00:00 to 15 November 2025, 23:59.

The staff of the Department of Tourism and our master’s students studying tourism participated in the Tourism Summit Budapest 2025 event. The central message of the event was “Travel Smart, Explore the Future!”, which emphasizes the role of innovation, sustainability, and digitalization in shaping the future of tourism.

During the two-day conference, inspiring lectures and panel discussions saw industry leaders and experts sharing the latest trends, and together we shaped the future of tourism. Key topics included digital transformation, sustainability, and the role of young professionals in the development of the industry.

The event provided opportunities for networking, learning, and exploring industry innovations through an exhibition area, where travel destinations, technology providers, and educational institutions showcased their latest developments.
