Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences is happy to announce the 17th edition of Baltic International Summer School, taking place in the green and active city of Valmiera, Latvia, from June 21 – July 2, 2015. This year the students can apply for 1 of the 2 simultaneous courses:
“International Tourism Events Management” – exploring the event management industry; and “Latvia – Place for Creative Development” which will focus on Latvian culture, language and characteristics in today’s world.
The students from the University of Pannonia are exempt from tuition fee and need to cover only their accommodation, meals, and cultural programme (which is a total of 390 EUR). Students can apply until June 1. The special feature of this year’s summer school will be the possibility to experience the traditional way of Latvian summer solstice celebration “Jani”. place from August 3 to August 17 in Valmiera, Latvia.
Through the years, BISS 2014 programme has been focused on offering

Managing Tourism in the Time of Crisis
The Department of Business Administration and the Interdepartmental Program of Postgraduate Studies in “Tourism, Planning, Management and Policy” of the University of the Aegean organize the 1st International Summer School in “Managing Tourism in Time of Crisis” in Rhodes Island, on the 29th of May till the 2nd of June 2013. Scientific Coordinator of the Summer School is Dr. Theodoros A. Stavrinoudis, Assistant Professor in “Management of Tourism Enterprises” of the Aegean University. Distinguished Professors of European Universities will give lectures at the Summer School.
The Summer School is open to: students (undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students), young researchers, tourism entrepreneurs, executives and employees in the tourism sector and others, who wish either to enrich or to update their knowledge on current issues in tourism management and tourism enterprises, with particular emphasis in times of crisis.
